Quidhampton Mill, Overton, Hampshire

Quidhampton corn mill is an ancient building on the River Test.  It is very rare that a water wheel, with all the gearing, mill stones, sack hoist and ancillary equipment have lain untouched since milling ceased in 1939.  This newsletter contains the first of two reports by Richard Waldram who made two visits in August 2016 by kind permission of the owners and tenants. It was a rare opportunity to survey the building and to record its contents. This picture is dated about 1900 and gives a better view than can be seen today.  Note the two fishermen beside the mill pond.
