Hockley Mill

The usual gang had an
enjoyable day showing visitors around Hockley Mill
on Heritage Open Day, 10 September. |

One early arrival was
Andrew Borland who travelled from Cwmbran specially
to visit the mill. He stayed for most of the day,
examining and photographing the site, and has now
sent me a CD with many excellent images to add to
our archive.
This is the crown
wheel at the top of the short upright section of the
drive shaft.

He mentioned that
Arrow Mill in Kingsland, Herefordshire and Cleobury
Mill in Cleobury North, Shropshire also have
horizontal sections of drive shaft. Does anyone
know of any others?
