Hampshire Mills Group Teamwork - It’s Taking Part That Counts

Want a bit more exercise?  Fancy learning to work a watermill or a windmill?  Enjoy being active outdoors? Or are you just content to make notes, take a few photographs or like to research mills and their families; write poems, articles or try new flour based recipes.  If so, why not join in the action and help to maintain our industrial heritage?

We tackle a wide variety of jobs: weed clearance on land and in waterways, operating mills to produce flour, telling the public all about the mill they are in and selling them flour – and advising how to bake with it, using the internet, libraries and record offices for researching mills, their past owners and families, recording activities both in note form and with a camera. Join us in re-creating yesterday’s industry for today, tomorrow, forever?

We also like visiting other types of mill all over Britain such as these photos show:  Stroudwater Textile Mills, mills in Herefordshire, Morse’s Wind Engine Park in Norfolk, and on a SPAB tour in Somerset.
