Chalton Windmill  from Russell Jones

I have just bought this copy of a photograph off ebay.  It is the best photograph I have seen of Chalton windmill and dates from the early 1900s.  I have seen other photos of it in a similar condition stated to date around that time.  It ceased work in the 1880s/1890s and was derelict by the 1930s.  Perhaps you might like to include it in a forthcoming newsletter?

The raised ground floor does not look particularly easy to access and exit, though I suppose it was about cart height.  Note also the cellar window hatches.  Perhaps one day an earlier photograph will turn up showing the mill in working order.
