Ros Plunkett

Andy Fish

It is with very great sadness that I have to report the tragic death of Ros Plunkett, the wife of our vice-chairman David, on 20 July 2020 while she was tending the garden she loved at their home in Fleet.  Her funeral service was held on Tuesday 18 August, but unfortunately due to covid-19 only close family were able to attend.  I’m sure you will all join me in offering our condolences to David and the family.

Ros and David met when he was working at Windsor Castle as Clerk of the Works, and she often accompanied him to HMG and Hampshire Industrial Archaeology Network meetings.

Ros was the newsletter editor for HMG from 2003 to 2008, following the untimely death of Mary Yoward.  Then Sheila Viner took over until 2014.

Here is Sheila on the right handing over to Ros again in January 2014;  this was when Ros introduced the A5 booklet style of publication.

Ros edited the newsletter until the summer of 2016 when she handed over to our current editor Ruth Andrews.
